अथ: योग अनुशासनं

Yoga welcomes all, regardless of body type or age, inviting individuals to embark on the path of self-discovery. There is no right time to begin. The only time that a yogi knows is ‘now’, echoing the essence of Patanjali’s primary sutra - “atha yoganushasanam” - yoga is the discipline in the now.

All sessions adhere to the traditional Hatha Yoga practice, emphasizing the harmonious development of physical strength and mental allowance.

Practices here are joyful, with the aim to attain the state of 'sthiram sukham asanam'.

Most sessions end with a sense of gratitude towards the body and its abilities, cultivated through practitioners' sincere care and unwavering belief that the body is their universe.

This dedication eventually becomes the gateway for correcting other lifestyle choices, leading to wellness in all aspects, be it knowing how to breathe deeply to even self-correct postural habits and regulating food and hydration. Body finds its ways of eliminating the toxins and the practitioner achieves a state of fresh energy over the many days.

Patience and consistency are the demands of this practice, and practitioners learn to build a discipline, a healthy routine as opposed to chasing perfection in a certain asana.

Here, the sessions are designed to suit all age groups, and levels of practitioners.

A typical session works the whole body, and aims at building the lung capacity to breathe better.

This Supported Breath

Drawing Support from Yoga Props

We are all on a journey to the right alignment. Props serve as essential aids on this journey, guiding us to understand alignment and facilitate breathing. Practitioners often encounter genuine obstacles in mastering or sustaining certain asanas. Despite genuine obstacles that practitioners may encounter in mastering or sustaining certain asanas, yoga cultivates acceptance, especially towards our bodies and their ongoing strengths and areas for improvement. Props act as supportive companions. They are not only used to sustain in an asana, but to also reach a deeper practice. They cater to beginners by facilitating learning, challenge advanced practitioners, and offer restoration and therapy for those seeking it.  They add a certain joy to a body that is working hard to achieve precision in the asana, transforming it into an interactive and enriching experience.

We learn to avoid putting too much stress on our organs, joints, and nerves, reducing the likelihood of diseases and the need for treatment.

What's more, our bodies can heal from past traumas, stresses, or illnesses, making us feel renewed. Yoga, with its eight limbs, is like a complete health practice. It keeps our physical cells healthy, balances our emotions, and helps us on a spiritual journey.
